Present passive is made using the reflexive pronoun се (self). Passive is generally avoided in Serbian, when possible:

• Active: Јо̋вана пѝше књи̏гу. (Jovana is writing a book.)
• Passive: Књи̏га се пѝше. (The book is being written. lit. The book is writing itself.)
